This thread wasn't about what I had hoped.
But yeah, it's a shame how the Borg railroads the local congregations into keeping their Regional Building Racket going.
it's the same old story with watchtower, even at the local level.. my mother has to drive a slightly uncomfortable distance to her kingdom hall in affluent suburbia.
she doesn't mind because the neighborhoods are nice and she sticks to main streets, but she is coming home by herself late on thursday night.
(she is married to an unbeliever.

has anybody here experienced a bonafide, real, true incident in whicy 'demons' actually interacted with you or did something 'supernatural' that left you convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that satan and his demons exist??.
.
Freshman psych class taught me that eyewitness testimony is among the most unreliable forms of evidence around. My psych teacher would get out of jury duty every time just by saying he's a psychologist whose research focuses on the unreliability of eyewitness testimony.
Just because you experience something doesn't mean you're qualified to interpret the experience.
That said, just because something happens in your head doesn't mean it isn't real.
But what does "real" mean? There is no evidence for actual invisible beings walking around our planet nor is there any testable hypothesis I know of for how such an invisible being could even be possible. (If there is, I think that would be cool to read about, so post a link. )
okay we've all beat our chest, lamented and throttled the dead horse of aawa.. time to move on!.
i suggest those of us on j-w.n who care about creating something the right way take the trouble to get the framework going.. let's do the grunt work and get the nattering, debates, naming and organizing already pre-approved so that "others" who have the talent, ability, motivation and resources can move in and turn the key!.
because it was not done before.. there is more wisdom on this discussion board in our vast numbers than there could possibly be in a virtual boardroom with 8 people brain-storming.. that isn't an insult--it is just a statistical fact!.
Of course the letters won't be read after the first dozen or so, Las Malvinas son Argentinas, but if they get hundreds of them on the same day it's sure to get the attention of the people who usually check the mail. Maybe it helps just one person there in the mail room to start wondering. That's worth more than a paper/stamp/envelope.

you have done this before ... attacked me ... saying I'm stuck in JW judgemental mode ... you muppet ....and you have gotten away with it as I don't have enough posts to get into long discussions.
No I haven't. I don't attack people.
Once again, I advise knowing what the hell you're talking about before you click "Submit."

lost, your rhetoric and bashing is getting tiresome. The reason why some of us trust AAWA leaders' motives is because some of us know some of them personally and know they're good people who have ALREADY helped many before ever forming this organization. Just because you're a noob who has never met any of these people doesn't make them nobodies in the ex-JW community.
Did they screw up? Yes. Did they take a long time to try to fix it? Yes. That can be problematic for people who don't know what they're talking about but here's some good advice: when you don't know what you're talking about, STFU.
I told my friends in AAWA that it is wrong to paint JWN with a broad brush as opposers to their efforts and I will tell you something similar: it is wrong to paint all of AAWA with a broad brush as "a right bunch of conmen."
If you don't want their help as an ex-JW because you don't trust them, that's fine. If you don't want to help them as a volunteer because you don't trust them, that's fine, too. But when you continually resort to name-calling and pontificating you have crossed a line. Take a note from how Simon has behaved through this. He's been critical but respectful and practical. You just keep ranting. Help or don't help but do no harm.

So people with email don't know how to create a second email address (hushmail, gmail, yahoo, whatever) to use for secret/private things like activism?
This is a legitimate issue?

Of course it was "real." I'm reminded of what Dumbledore told Harry while he was dead and at the train station.

The burden of proof is on those asserting that they DO exist.
This is no different from the discussion about gods. Until there's real evidence (not anecdotes), the rational assumption is that they don't exist. I've seen some creepy unexplained stuff in my day but the leap from not knowing what caused it to "it was demons" is too great for logic.
ages like 20-25 or younger.i mean damn,a 21 year old guy in my congo got baptised a couple weeks back and now his in a relationship with a jw gal and their getting married soon.any thoughts?.
Got married at 21 (wife was 24).
We left the Borg together in 2010. She left me in 2011.
Life has been a crazy adventure for the past 5 or 6 years.
